The soils are made up of Puniu Silt Loam, Maeroa Ash and a combination of Maeroa clay mixed with Hamilton clay.
Water Supply Water is sourced from a neighboring spring. There is a suction pipe (Approx. 100m) that runs directly from the spring to an electric pump on our boundary. From there water is pumped to four 25000 L tanks at the cowshed. Water is pumped from the cowshed to four separate farm lines. The farm water lines are 50mm Alkathene pipe reducing down to 40mm and 32mm with Plasson fittings. The water for the 3 houses plus calve shed are pumped separately from the farm lines. If it changes and water would need to be sourced from the boundary the water quality at that point is very good as the stream that flows from the spring has been fenced and planted and the spring has a very high flow.
